Pet Safety
If your pet is sometimes aggressive and/or excitable or suffering any condition that may affect its behaviour (i.e. arthritis, wounds etc), it is important to bring this to our attention when you book an appointment with us.
You should understand your pet's adverse behaviour may create occupational health and safety issues for the groomer as well as a potential risk to your pet's welfare.
Recognising the potential risks identified above, we may ask for your written consent and release, or in your absence take steps to restrain and/or muzzle your pet during grooming if it is deemed necessary at the time. A grooming procedure will be halted if we believe that either the groomer or your pet face an unacceptable risk because of your pet's behaviour.
We will of course exercise caution and duty of care during any grooming procedure.
This said, you should be aware that we use very sharp tools in the grooming procedure and that regardless of behaviour your pet may be cut if the animal should flinch or lunge at the wrong moment.
In the unlikely event that such an undesirable incident occurs, your pet may require veterinary attention following the grooming procedure to protect your pet's welfare. While steps may be taken to arrange veterinary attention, when booking our services, you are agreeing that Shampooch Pet Care NT, the DogWashMan and its groomers, accepts no liability for the veterinary costs that may be incurred during any washing or grooming procedure.
